Welcome

Welcome to St Albans Art Society - we are a lively group of about 200 artists and art-lovers from St Albans and the surrounding area. We run a programme which helps members develop their work, study the masters and socialise. The Society emphasizes the visual culture of this historic city.
  Our summer programme includes weekly outdoor sessions and the exhibition in July-August. Starting in October the winter series of monthly lectures and demonstrations is interspersed with popular life model sessions. The year is completed by several coach outings and workshops. A dedicated volunteer committee guides the programme and many members help and participate.
  Full or student membership admits you to the "hands-on" activities - life model sessions, workshops, exhibitions. A lower rate of subscriptions applies to those who only attend lectures, demonstrations and social events. All members receive the colourful Prism magazine filled with illustrations and articles by members plus Society news.
  Background - we have operated in this form since 1957 but can trace our records back to the formation of the Hertfordshire Art Society in 1888.
