About this Artist
Steph is an amateur artist who enjoys using mixed media including textiles to create a range of painting styles. She is currently Chair of the St Albans Art Society having retired from a teaching career in 2019. Steph is an enthusiastic beginner who enjoys attending workshops and courses as well as visiting galleries and exhibitions as part of developing a personal artistic style.

The work shown below is 75cm x 75cm and was created in a tutored work shop focussing on creating the impression of distance within the painting. Acrylic paint is the main medium used with oil pastel to create highlights. It is painted on a stretched canvas frame that was prepared using gesso over a range of different surface textures.
