'Boats and Harbours in Collage and Texture Colour' tutored by Dave Nelson

Have an inspired, fun, day creating an imaginative ‘Boats and harbour /costal building scene’ using mixed-media and acrylic over collage.

Dave Nelson is a professional artist who has appeared on Sky Arts ‘Landscape artist of the Year,’ describing himself as a contemporary mixed-media painter.

Dave will guide participants through the different stages required to quickly build up a textural boats and harbour scene, using collage, ink, paint and other materials.  The strong process is perfect for beginners who will create a large-scale work of art, as well as experienced artists looking to re-awaken their creativity and experiment with new processes.

All materials and paints are provided.

'Landscape in Acrylic' tutored by Susan Gray

Create an exciting cottage scene within a dramatic wild landscape.

Popular, successful local artist Susan Gray, returns with a new theme of dramatic landscapes in acrylics. Her inspiration comes mostly from the wild seas and dramatic landscapes of Cornwall and West Country, and  Cumbria where she tries to capture the movement and energy.

This fabulous workshop will start with a demonstration, where Susan shares her thought processes as she creates her painting also encouraging questions. She incorporates the use of colour and contrast with different ways of applying the paint. Her individual tuition adds to enabling participants to put into practice techniques and ideas learnt.

Susan uses a mix of large brushes, rags and knives and often finds an abstract element appears in the work.
