10:00am to 4:00pm
Charles Morris Hall, Tyttenhanger Green, Tyttenhanger, ST ALBANS, Hertfordshire, AL4 0RN
The hall has plenty of free parking.
Bring your lunch and a mug for drinks which will be provided.
Please bring the following (although don't rush out to buy lots of new paints as we can mix many of them).
- Board, canvas or paper as large as you feel able to manage (I prefer board or canvas or really heavy duty paper which I would prime with a coat of Gesso).
- Charcoal or pencil.
- A selection of brushes to include a bristle decorator's brush say 1" or 2", also a couple of flat ended bristle brushes up to 1" and a couple of small synthetic brushes for detail.
- Painting knives - I use a long one and a small diamond shaped one.
- Plenty of kitchen roll or rags, water spray, cotton buds, old toothbrush.
The following paints are suggested
- Titanium white
- coeruleum blue
- ultramarine and phthalo blue
- sometimes cobalt blue
- raw sienna
- yellow ochre
- burnt sienna
- burnt umber
- paynes grey
- naples yellow
- crimson
- occasionally phthalo green.
Sue works from her own sketches, but she will bring along a few inspirational pictures torn from magazines. It's better if people use their own photos or sketches.
