The annual summmer exhibition is a popular public event with both visitors, who have the opportunity to view and purchase original artwork, as well as our members who showcase their varied works made using all types of media. Members enjoy the comments and feedback from the visitors, and visitors normally have the chance to vote for the winner of the Terry Biggs Cup by choosing their favourite works. Unfortunately, due to the delay in the Government lifting covid restrictions, the Exhibition organisers have, very reluctantly, decided not to have the visitors voting for their favourite artwork this year, as monitoring the procedure safely couldn’t be guaranteed. Consequently there will be no Terry Biggs Cup awarded this year, but the St Albans Trophy and the Challenge Trophy will each be judged by independent judges as usual.
The Exhibition and COVID-19 Safety Measures
1: Masks must be worn at all times in the hall by both helpers and visitors.
2: Hand sanitiser will be provided in the lobby.
3: Safe distancing guidance must be observed and will be monitored.
4: A steward will be present together with a committee member to process any purchases.
5: Chairs will be sanitised regularly.
6: Catalogues will only be used once.
