'St Albans Museum' a talk by curator Sarah Keeling

Sarah looks after the collections from 15th Century to the present day.  Sarah will talk about the art held in the museum collection.

'Portrait in Pastels' demonstrated by Tony Jackson

Tony is an architect and creative investigator of perception.  He explores a sense of wonder, enjoying the surreal, the off-beat and dark side often with humour.  Life, death and renewal are themes often seen in Tony's works, delving into other worlds and universes.  Clarity is sometimes cast asideColours, textures and patterns are common elements in a broad range of artistic expression covering paintings, sketches and photography.

'Watercolour paint along' demonstrated by Dermot Cavanagh

Dermot Cavanagh can bring out the artist in anyone. He is the artist, tutor and broadcaster behind the hit BBC learn to paint TV series ‘Awash with Colour’. During 74 episodes of his TV art show he taught a host of celebrities to paint.

'Jamaica Garden' demonstrated by Susan Clare

Clare paints in watercolours, acrylics and mixed media.  'I've spent most of my adult life in Jamaica, so I paint my tumbling tropical garden, faces full of character and the Caribbean reefs.  I add atmosphere with ambiguous passages of texture and light, or colour and pattern.  I want people to feel connected with and protective of our natural world.'

'A Summer Path with Cow Parsley' a demonstration in oils by local artist Rory Browne

Rory’s rich and vibrant landscapes have gained international as well as national recognition. His work resides in public and private collections both here in the UK and abroad. A graduate of the Chelsea School of Art, Rory seeks to reflect the beauty of the created world through his work. Whether focusing on city scrapes, mountains or the coast, his work never ceases to engage the viewer.
